Company recalls energy-saving light bulbs

Telstar Products, doing business as Sprint International, of Brooklyn, NY is recalling about 317,000 energy-saving light bulbs manufactured in China.

Telstar reports that the light bulbs can overheat, posing a fire hazard to consumers. The company says that it has received two reports of fires, with one incident resulting in a residential fire. However, there have been no reports of injuries.

The recalled light bulbs were sold through discount stores throughout New York and New Jersey from August 2010 through March 2011 for between $1 and $1.50.
