Cobham AvComm, formerly a division of Aeroflex and manufacturer of advanced test solutions for P25, DMR, dPMR™, NXDN™, TETRA and analog land mobile radio test solutions, is proud to announce the selection of Nextec Global as a Global Channel Partner for the USA, Latin America and other selected areas worldwide.

Zvika Golan, Executive Vice President of Nextec said “Our customers have always come first. I have been associated with Motorola and General Dynamics for over 20 years in sales and support of LMR test equipment; however, the time has come for a new strategic partnership with the world market and technology leader in LMR test. We are glad to be partnering with Cobham AvComm and representing their line of high quality and technically advanced radio test solutions. For Nextec, any equipment manufacturer whose products we sell and service must demonstrate consistent quality, a broad and dynamic product family, and solid market stability and technology leadership to instil long-term confidence in our customers. Cobham AvComm is that equipment manufacturer.”

VSWR and its Effects on Power Amplifiers

Voltage Standing Wave Ratio results from an impedance mismatch between a source (an amplifier) and a load (test application). This mismatch can influence the performance of the source.

Cobham AvComm selected Nextec due to their reputation in providing quality products and excellent service. Nextec provides a single, one-stop solution that includes sales, 24/7 technical support, NIST traceable calibration, component-level repair, and comprehensive refurbishment of communications analyzers and radio test sets. This capability has been available to Nextec’s international customers for over 20 years, across multiple markets and time zones, while also providing multi-lingual support.

“We are excited to be able to offer the Cobham 8800S Digital Radio Test Set, the 3920B Analog and Digital Radio Test Platform, the 3550R Portable Radio Test System, and other products to Nextec’s existing customers. Their legacy of reliable service and support now can be provided to new Cobham AvComm customers worldwide,” said Bill Martin, Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Customer Support for Cobham AvComm.

As part of their strategic commitment to Cobham AvComm, Nextec has extended their service capabilities to include support for legacy Aeroflex products such as the IFR 1200 series and COM-120 Series. Nextec now offers the unique combination of factory trained service for Motorola/General Dynamics Communications System Analyzers and service for legacy IFR/Aeroflex Radio Test Sets. With their expanded market and new service capabilities, Nextec will now also be able to provide trade-in opportunities for customers wishing to upgrade their existing Motorola/General Dynamics equipment or legacy IFR/Aeroflex products to new Cobham AvComm Radio Test Solutions.

Nextec stocks Cobham AvComm LMR Radio Test Sets, and can provide immediate shipment of units from their in-house inventory directly to customers.
