China Eliminates Compulsory CCC Certification for Certain Automotive Products

China’s Certificate and Accreditation Administration (CNCA) has taken steps to ease the regulatory approval process for certain automotive products, and has introduced a self-certification option for other automotive products.

According to a posting on the website of China Certification, the CNCA’s action removes a number of automotive products, such as interior trimming and door locks and door retention components, from the list of products subject to mandatory CCC certification.  At the same time, the CNCA has implemented a new self-certification option, the CCC Self-Declaration, that will be applied to other automotive components, such as safety belts, exterior lighting, seats and seat headrests and safety glass.

Additional details regarding these changes are available at the China Certification website.
