Changes to FCC Part 25 Streamline Licensing of Earth Stations and Satellites

On August 9, 2013, the FCC adopted new changes to rules overseeing satellite communications that will modernize licensing of earth stations and satellites. The new changes are being implemented to encourage investment and innovation in SATCOM and eliminate unnecessary regulations.

The Report and Order eliminates unneeded technical and information filing requirements, updates rules to accommodate evolving technology, and simplifies existing requirements.
