Burn Hazard Prompts Mason Jar Night Lights Recall

recalled night lightNantucket Distributing is recalling approximately 12,000 mason jar night lights because the plastic around the base of the light bulb can melt, posing a burn hazard. Two incidents involving the plastic melting have been reported, but there are no known injuries or property damage.

The lights were manufactured in China and sold at Christmas Tree Shops, Christmas Tree Shops andThat!, and andThat! retail locations from December 2014 through March 2015 for approximately $5 each. The night light features a silver or clear glass mason jar enclosing a 7-watt incandescent light bulb.  The glass jars have clear raised letters that read “frutta del prato.” Check the CPSC notice for model and SKU numbers.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled nights lights and return them to any Christmas Tree Shops, Christmas Tree Shops andThat!, or andThat! store for a full refund.
