Bugatti Recalls Veyron for Fire Hazard

2008 VeyronBugatti is recalling certain model year 2006-2008 Veyron vehicles because the positive battery (B+) cable and the connection to the alternator may corrode. In extreme conditions, the cable protection could be damaged, which could result in the battery positive cable overheating. In the presence of burnable product, this could lead to a fire. On affected vehicles the alternator will be replaced and B+ cable will be fixed in order to avoid water ingress and therefore reduce corrosion.

Corrosion reduces the electrical power output of the generator that could be transferred into heat in the cable. ~NHTSA Report
