Bed Bug Heat Treatment Systems Recalled

Bed Bug Heat Treatment Systems Recalled | In Compliance Magazine

PAB Two has issued a recall for their ThermalStrike Expedition bed bug heat treatment system after receiving four reports of the flexible, electrical conducting strip breaking and starting a fire or sparking. The electrical conducting strip at the top of the heating element can break at the corners after repeated setups, posing a fire hazard.

The systems are comprised of four, white corrugated plastic pieces. The inside of the folding four-panel wall contain a heating element, a black heating film affixed to a white, flexible electrical conducting strip. The recalled units were sold between December 2011 and May 2014. Consumers with recalled units should immediately stop using the system, unplug it, and request a free ASC Diagnostic Unit. If the diagnostic unit detects a break in the conducting strip, it will immediately turn off the system.
