Michael Windler

Michael J. Windler is the General Manager responsible for the operation of the EMC and NEBS laboratories of Underwriters Laboratories Inc. in North America. Mike has a BSEE from the University of Wisconsin - Madison, and an MBA from Northwestern University. Mike is also a licensed Professional Engineer in the states of Wisconsin and Texas. He has been a member of the IEEE for 24 years and is a member of the American National Standards Institute Accredited Standards Committee C63®. In addition, Mike is the immediate past Chair of ANSI ASC C63® Sub-committee 1 on measurement techniques and methods, chairman of the Finance Committee and a member of Sub-committee 6 on laboratory accreditation. Mike is the chairman of working group 1-13.2 on requirements for sites operating above 1 GHz and has been one of the principal researchers in this area. He was also a principal researcher in developing correction factors for biconical dipole antennas. Mike has published numerous technical articles on EMC measurement issues and given presentations on EMC-related issues at the IEEE EMC Symposiums.
