The recall includes about 12,500 ATVs that were sold at Can-Am dealers nationwide from July 2007 to January 2015 for between $1,800 and $2,800. The vehicles are youth model Can-Am Mini DS ATVs. They are black or yellow, with “Can-AM DS” and the engine size (70 or 90 cubic centimeters) is printed on both sides of the vehicle’s fairing. Model year 2008 through 2014 DS 70 ATVs fail to meet requirements pertaining to the unrestricted maximum speed of the vehicle. Model year 2008 through 2015 DS 70 and DS 90 ATVs fail to meet requirements pertaining to parking brakes.
Consumers are advised to immediately stop using the ATVs and contact a BRP dealer to schedule a free repair.
