The Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) has introduced a new program to incite small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to collaborate with the agency. A*STAR will grant royalty-free and exclusive intellectual property (IP) licenses for the first 18 months of the program.
Over 700 SMEs have produced close to 2,200 projects by collaborating with A*STAR throughout the past five years. Philip Lim, chief executive officer of ETPL, said: “The number of A*STAR technology licenses going to our SMEs have tripled in the past five years, and we are encouraged to help our SMEs be more competitive in the global marketplace.”
