Ametherm Introduces New NTC Chip Thermistors in Compact Sizes With Temperature Ratings to +150°C

Ametherm introduced four new series of NTC chip thermistors for high-accuracy temperature measurement. Recently acquired from RTI Electronics Inc., the STC0134-X, STC0138-X, STC0143, and STC0144-X series devices are available in a variety of compact sizes, while providing fast response times and high-temperature operation to +150 °C.

The NTC chip thermistors released deliver highly repeatable performance for temperature monitoring and compensation in hybrid circuits for ICs in robotic assemblies and military telecom systems. For increased reliability, the devices’ electrode surface is available in gold to prevent oxidation.

Providing a high-stability replacement for leaded small-disc thermistors, STC0134-X, STC0138-X, STC0143, and STC0144-X series devices experience minimal drift from their initial electrical values. Available in sizes as small as 0.50 mm by 0.50 mm by 0.43 mm, the components feature resistance at 25 °C from 100 Ω to 5000 Ω, tolerance down to ± 5%, and beta from 3,000 K to 3,523 K. The thermistors are suitable for solder reflow assembly or gluing with epoxy.

Antenna Factor and Gain Calculations

Antenna Factor and Gain metrics provide crucial insights into antenna performance, allowing engineers to calculate signal strength relationships and directional effectiveness. These measurements help optimize RF systems by comparing actual antenna behavior to theoretical isotropic radiators using standardized 50-ohm configurations.
