America Semiconductor and Quest Components Announce Worldwide Distribution Agreement

America Semiconductor, LLC, a leading manufacturer of state-of-the-industry high-power semiconductors, appointed Quest Components, Inc. a franchised distributor of its full lines of rugged high-reliability high-power standard, fast and super-fast recovery rectifiers, low-power and bridge rectifiers, diacs, IGBT modules, SCRs, Triacs, TVS and Zener diodes.  The agreement augments America Semiconductor’s presence in strategic markets while providing OEM and CEM customers with enhanced value-added services and sourcing options.

America Semiconductor, which sells only through distributors, and never to end customers, selected Quest Components as its newest distribution partner due to their global reputation for providing supply chain solutions that promote increased sales and reduced costs while accelerating products’ time-to-market.  Moreover, Quest Components is highly respected within America Semiconductor’s target industries, which include alternative energy, oil drilling, power grid, welding, HVAC, and transportation.

Jeffrey Simon, America Semiconductor chief executive officer, stated, “We are committed to strategically extend our global network of stocking distributors to offer customers world-class local engineering, design and logistical support.  Quest’s customer-oriented sales focus, and comprehensive understanding of our semiconductor products and target industries, makes them the ideal distribution partner.  We are pleased with the quantity and range of parts they have placed into inventory as it allows us to ensure the success of customers.  We look forward to leveraging their expertise and market reach and anticipate working with them for many years to come.”

Mastering High Voltage: The Importance of Accurate Test Equipment

This whitepaper underscores that precise calibration of high-voltage test gear — especially when measuring 1 kV–150 kV systems — is essential for safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance. It details measurement techniques (voltage dividers, step-down transformers, etc.), the impact of environmental and connection factors on accuracy, and why traceable calibration (e.g. to NIST / A2LA) is a must to ensure consistent, reliable results.
