Air Exchanger Recall Expanded

Air Exchanger Recall Expanded | In Compliance Magazine

A 2011 recall of Venmar Ventilation air exchangers has been expanded to include an additional 315,000 units in the United States and Canada. The motors in the air exchangers can overheat posing a fire hazard. The air changers were sold with and without heavy recovery under a variety of brand names manufactured between January 2002 and July 2009.

The company has received a total of 30 reports of fires caused by the air exchangers, with 25 occurring in Canada and the remaining five in the United States. Consumers with recalled units should immediately turn them off and contact the company to request a free inspection and repair by a Venmar field technician.
