Aeroflex Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Aeroflex Holding Corp., announced that the 7100 Digital Radio Test Set provides LTE-A carrier aggregation testing at full Cat 6 data rates of 300 Mbps downlink and 50 Mbps uplink simultaneously for LTE-A in FDD mode, and now also supports carrier aggregation in TDD mode.
The Cat 6 capability is available via an upgrade to the standard 7100 software and the use of a RF combiner, allowing users to maximize the potential of their existing test equipment investment.
The LTE-A capability of the 7100 facilitates testing to 3GPP Release 10 specifications on two non-contiguous component carriers, with both FDD and TDD modes supported, and with 2×2 downlink MIMO or SISO for each component carrier. All Release 10 RF band combinations are supported, including the downlink-only Band 29.
Symmetrical bandwidths of 5+5 MHz, 10+10 MHz and 20+20 MHz are supported, along with asymmetrical bandwidth combinations that include 5 MHz, 10 MHz, 15 MHz, and 20 MHz.
Test capability—validated against the industry benchmark, the Aeroflex TM500 test mobile—includes 300Mbps DL and 50Mbps UL bi-directional data rates to Cat 6; full protocol stack; detailed logging; data connection and throughput performance test; and end-to-end throughput using IP connections. UDP, TCP IPv4/IPv6 are supported with multiple PDN connections, both with or without RoHC (robust header compression). Automated regression test is supported via API.
