Aeroflex and Harris Announce Availability of the Aeroflex 3920 Digital Radio Test Set for Automated Tests and Alignment of P25 Series Portable Radios

Aeroflex Incorporated has announced the addition of support for Harris P25 P7300, P5500 and XG-75 Series portable radios to its expanding capabilities for the Aeroflex 3920 Auto-Test II system. The application provides automated testing and alignment to provide a new level of consistent repeatable results. Both dealers and end users can use this advantage to decrease the amount of time spent on the tedious task of testing or aligning radios. Alignments can be performed in less than 10 minutes and testing of primary functions can take much less time.

“Aeroflex is pleased to have the opportunity to provide this unique test technology for Harris radios,” said Mike Fortna, Manager, Applications Development and Product Training for Aeroflex Wichita. “The 3920 provides an advanced method for repeatable and highly accurate test and alignment for Harris radios that requires minimal technical interface. Since the 3920 provides fully automated tests and alignment processes, Harris dealers and end users can now utilize their technical resources to provide higher value services.

With a proven track record for speed and accuracy, this application uses the precision instrumentation within the 3920 to quickly perform test and alignments to manufacturer specifications. An exclusive cable correction feature ensures that power measurements are always correct.

The Harris P25 Series software is now available and can be ordered as Option 616 for the 3920. This option is a software upgrade that can be performed in the field.
