Advanced Semiconductor Joint Labs Established by A*STAR and Industry Partners

Singapore’s Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) Institute of Microelectronics (IME), united with ten-industry partners to establish four new joint laboratories to focus on developing and advancing semiconductor technologies.

The labs will provide lithography, wafer level packaging (WLP), metrology, and assembly to offer an integrated platform for semiconductor research and development. This international collaboration will provide an opportunity to expedite the commercialization of new products quicker and more cost effectively. The participating partners include Applied Materials, Dai Nippon Printing, DISCO, KLA-Tencor, Mentor Graphics, Nikon, Panasonic Factory Solutions Asia Pacific, PINK, Tokyo Electron Ltd., and Tokyo Ohka Kogyo.
