Lenovo Inc. of Morrisville, N.C., has issued a recall for more than 544,000 units of the LS-15 AC power cords manufactured from February 2011 to December 2011. The recall has been issued after receiving multiple reports from outside the U.S. involving the AC power cord overheating, sparking, melting, and burning.
The power cords were distributed with the IdeaPad brand B-, G-, S-, U-, V- and Z-series laptop computers and Lenovo brand B-, G- and V-series laptop computers. They are black in color and have the “LS-15” molded mark on the AC adapter end. Additionally, the manufacture date code in the format REV: 00 YYMM can be found on a label attached to the cord.
Consumers should immediately unplug the power cord and contact Lenovo for a free replacement.
