New Smart Circuit Sets World Record for Data Transmission

New Smart Circuit Sets World Record for Data Transmission | In Compliance Magazine

A new type of microwave circuit has set a world record for data transmission. The smart circuit developed by a team of researchers from the Chalmers University of Technology has achieved a transmission rate of40 Gigabit data per second operating at 140 GHz. This new record is twice as fast a previous world record at a comparable frequency.

Advancements in semiconductor materials have allowed the production of these circuits that are capable of transmitting high-frequency signals with adequate high power. Some of the possible applications of these new smart circuits would improve wireless data transmissions at events where high-resolution live video footage is transmitted to screens, like at major sporting events or concerts.
