A report, “Accelerating Sustainability: Demonstrating the Benefits of Transportation Technology,” was released last week that describes how the use of technology can reduce oil consumption and greenhouse gas emissions, and alleviate traffic congestion. The report features tools being used across the country that currently improve the way people and goods move.
Four real world case studies were used to show examples of how information and communications technology and intelligent transportation systems are saving drivers time and money, while improving the nation’s transportation infrastructure. Industry experts believe that if these technologies were used on a national scale, there would reductions in fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.
