Leroy Merlin Chooses MetricStream for Quality and EU Product Safety Compliance Management

Leroy Merlin

Leroy Merlin, one of the world’s largest Do-It-Yourself (DIY) home improvement retailers headquartered in France, has selected MetricStream to provide a comprehensive solution for quality and product safety compliance management. MetricStream’s solution will help Leroy Merlin streamline, automate, and integrate a range of quality assurance and product safety compliance processes, including quality audits, inspections, product compliance risk assessments, product testing, preventive actions, and curative actions such as the treatment of non-compliance, product blocking, and recall management.

The proposed EU product safety and market surveillance package has both legislative and non-legislative measures to improve consumer product safety and to strengthen market surveillance of products across 27 EU Member States.

A Dash of Maxwell’s: A Maxwell’s Equations Primer – Part Two

Maxwell’s Equations are eloquently simple yet excruciatingly complex. Their first statement by James Clerk Maxwell in 1864 heralded the beginning of the age of radio and, one could argue, the age of modern electronics.

Using the solution, Leroy Merlin will gain a complete and real-time view of quality assurance and product safety compliance activities across the enterprise and supply chain. This improved visibility will enable the company to proactively prevent quality issues, and strengthen compliance with regulations such as the EU proposal for Product Safety and Market Surveillance. The solution will also help Leroy Merlin achieve their product stewardship objectives.

MetricStream Quality and Product Safety Compliance Management Solution will enable Leroy Merlin to manage and track quality at different levels ranging from upstream processes — where suppliers are assessed for compliance with regulations, to downstream processes — where the product lifecycle is tracked for conformance to quality standards. In addition, the solution’s Web-based interface will enhance collaboration between Leroy Merlin and their suppliers, as well as third-party testing labs, auditors, and inspectors.

Through the solution, Leroy Merlin will be able to manage compliance to regulations, quality standards, analyze product compliance risks, and evaluate product and supplier conformance. They will also be able to cohesively manage audits, inspections, control plans, product testing, as well as product blocking, withdrawal, and recalls – all on one common platform.
