The University of Massachusetts Lowell has announced an agreement with Raytheon Company to develop a joint research facility to advance innovative technologies for radar and communication systems. The Raytheon-UMass Lowell Research Institute (RURI) will include state-of-the-art laboratories and classrooms to be used by UMass Lowell staff and students and Raytheon employees.
The RURI will use the printed electronics and nanotechnology from UMass Lowell and combine that with Raytheon’s strategic technology needs to advance radar and communication system technologies. The institute will be located in the Mark and Elisia Saab Emerging Technologies and Innovation Center on UMass Lowell’s campus.
