EU Commission releases updated standards for TV ecodesign

The Commission of the European Union (EU) has published a list of documents to provide guidance on transitional measurement methods for compliance with its directive relating to the ecodesign requirements for televisions.

The so-called Ecodesign Directive, 2009/125/EC, details essential requirements for the ecodesign of wide variety of products.  The Commission’s communications, published in the May 5th issue of the Official Journal of the European Union, references a number of European EN standards, as well as documents issued by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).

The Commission says that the listed transitory measurement methods will ultimately be replaced by harmonized standards.  View the list of prescribed measurement methods for compliance with the EU’s directive relating to the ecodesign requirements for television.
