T-Mobile to Test Nokia’s 6G Equipment

U.S. cellular service provider T-Mobile has reportedly received permission from the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to conduct experimental testing of equipment using 6G technology.

According to an article posted on the website of Data Center Dynamics, the FCC has approved T-Mobile’s request to test “experimental prototype wireless equipment” developed by Finland-based Nokia. The testing authorized by the FCC would allow T-Mobile to test the Nokia devices in the 7.125-7.525 MHz bands, the mid-band range allocated for 6G technologies.

T-Mobile says that its testing of the Nokia 6G devices will take place in and around its company headquarters in Bellevue, Washington.
