Have Your Say: Canada’s Wireless Mic Standard Up for Review

Canada’s Department of Innovation, Science and Economic Development (ISED) is seeking public comment on the proposed revision of its draft standard for wireless microphones and wireless multichannel audio systems (WMAS).

Released in early April, the draft revision of the standard, RSS-123 Issue 5, includes the following changes from the prior version:

  • Updates to unwanted emissions requirements applicable to wireless microphones;
  • Added requirements for operation of WMAS in selected frequency bands;
  • Added definitions for terms used in the standard; and
  • Updates to other standards referenced in the standard.
