Bruce Archambeault will teach several seminars in 2017. Check http://www.brucearch.com for details.
PCB Design Seminar for Real-World EMI Control
This seminar is designed for working engineers involved in PCB level design during the product development process. Proper EMC design is critical for product success and can have little to no impact on the company when done properly. EMC is not magic! Dr. Archambeault will break down the science, provide the latest insights, and you can directly apply it in the lab.
Advanced EMC & Signal Integrity Performance
This course goes beyond the basics to help understand the fundamental physics involved and to be able to make trade off decisions when the normal rules-of-thumb cannot be applied. The rules-of-thumb will help engineers make the correct decisions, but often the ‘shades of grey’ between the absolute black and white extremes are desired. This seminar will examine these grey areas and provide guidance to help engineers make the difficult trade off decisions.
D.L.S. Electronic Systems, Inc. offers a two-day applications seminar plus a one-day workshop.
EMC by Your Design: A Practical Applications Seminar and Workshop
Using updates of the latest developments in research, standards, regulations, instrumentation and services, participants will study EMC design techniques and the calculations required to design a product to meet compliance regulations. After two days of intense study of EMC and design principles, students in the workshop will review, from start to finish, the design of an EMC compliant product. The goal of this workshop is to help design engineers and technicians learn to apply the EMC design principles they learn in the seminar to real life products. Doug Smith has shared his winter class schedule with us. Find additional details on his website: http://emcesd.com/#BoulderCity.
Lab Techniques, Design and Troubleshooting
This seminar, and its demonstrations, are the product of a lifetime of experimentation and electronic design. Major concepts discussed in the seminar are illustrated with experiments on live circuits that were developed over years and are quite unique, enabling a deeper understanding of engineering concepts than seminars usually do. Many new topics and experiments have been added over the last few months that engineers and technicians will find very useful in producing, testing, or debugging new and existing designs of ALL types. Using the techniques presented in this seminar, design problems can be found and fixed in a few days, not weeks or months that are typical in the industry, not to mention being able to avoid the problems in the first place.

Serving as a constant reference and resource library accessible at any time, clients are better equipped to keep pace with new technologies and regulations, advance their approach to risk management and risk prevention, and design, build and sell safer and more sustainable products around the world.
Wyatt Technical Services is offering a new online class in 2017 on EMC troubleshooting and precompliance for product designers. For more information, go to http://www.emc-seminars.com.
EMC Troubleshooting and Precompliance Testing for Product Designers
Covers the basics of EMC design and how to correct typical design issues, simple pre-compliance bench top measurement methods, and includes a number of simple techniques and tools useful in characterizing designs at various stages of development that will better prepare products for EMC qualification.
York EMC Services’ York Training Academy (YTA) is now offering Online Training Course Modules. (http://www.yorkemc.co.uk)
Introduction to EMC
This module provides an introduction to EMC, beginning with covering the background behind electromagnetic sources and the overall electromagnetic environment. The basics of Emissions and Immunity are also covered, along with an overview of the coupling mechanisms.
Introduction to EMC Standards
This module provides an introduction to the world of EMC standards and is intended to help manufacturers understand the selection process, as well as ensuring that compliance is maintained by using the correct version of the standard.
Implications of the New EMC Directive
This module provides an overview of the new EMC Directive 2014/30/EU which came into force on April 20, 2016 (replacing 2004/108/EC) with no transition period. It is intended to help manufacturers, authorized representatives, importers and distributors understand the changes that the new Directive implements mean for them and their equipment.
Ensuring the Continued Compliance of Products with the EMC Directive
This module provides information and advice regarding Ongoing Compliance. CE marking and other compliance activities require updating with product changes, regulation changes and administrative aspects throughout their lifecycle. This module concentrates on compliance of products with the EMC directive. The statement running throughout this module is that every product which is placed on the market every day should be compliant with the EMC Directive, and the manufacturer is legally responsible for being able to demonstrate product compliance. This module takes you through the various steps to ensure that this is the case.
Industry Symposia, Conferences and Exhibits
These annual symposia are an excellent resource for extensive technical training, and exchange of new ideas and technical concepts. The benefit of attending these events is that attendees can sample a vast array of workshops quickly and efficiently while networking with colleagues and professionals with the same interests.
