The U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has cited another technology retailer for marketing unapproved radio frequency (RF) devices.
According to a Citation and Order issued by the FCC, Washington-based Broadcast Supply Worldwide, Inc. (BSW) marketed one RF device that lacked the required equipment authorization. This device also reportedly operated outside of the designated FM frequency band (88 to 108 MHz), did not use a permanently attached antenna or an antenna that used a unique connector, and lacked the appropriate labeling and user manual disclosures.
In addition, BSW also reportedly marketed three additional RF devices that lacked the appropriate labeling and user manual disclosures.
The Commission’s action against BSW follows a separate Citation and Order issued by the FCC in early December 2022 against New York-based B&H Foto and Electronics, which illegally marketed seven different RF devices.
