FCC Opens Application Window for Connected Care Telehealth Program

The U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has launched another major telehealth initiative, this one focused on providing essential healthcare services to low-income patients and veterans.

According to a press release issued earlier this month, the Commission has begun accepting applications for funding under its Connected Care Pilot program. The $100 million Pilot program is being funded with Universal Service fees collected by the Commission, with the intent helping eligible healthcare providers defray up to 85% of the cost of eligible services and network equipment, including broadband Internet access and data connections.

Applications for funding under the Connected Care Pilot program are being accepted through December 7th.

A Dash of Maxwell’s: A Maxwell’s Equations Primer – Part One

Solving Maxwell’s Equations for real-life situations, like predicting the RF emissions from a cell tower, requires more mathematical horsepower than any individual mind can muster. These equations don’t give the scientist or engineer just insight, they are literally the answer to everything RF.

The Connected Care Pilot program builds on the success earlier this year of the FCC’s emergency COVID-19 Telehealth Program, which provided $200 million in funding to healthcare institutions to deal with the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.
