IQD launches new 14-pin DIL OCXO

IQD has announced the introduction of a new IQQV-160 series OCXO, available in a wide frequency range from 5 to 100MHz. This new model offers all the performance benefits of an OCXO in the small size of an industry standard 14-pin DIL package and is ideal for applications including instrumentation, microwave radios, cellular paging base stations, broadcast equipment and home meter readers.

The new model is available in a wide frequency range from 5 to 100MHz, the most common frequencies being 10MHz, 20MHz, 12.8MHz, 13MHz, 15MHz, 16.32MHz, 16.384MHz, 18.432MHz, 19.20MHz, 19.44MHz, 20MHz, 25MHz, 26MHz, 30.72MHz, 32.768MHz, 38.88MHz, 40MHz, 50MHz and 100MHz.

A Dash of Maxwell’s: A Maxwell’s Equations Primer – Part One

Solving Maxwell’s Equations for real-life situations, like predicting the RF emissions from a cell tower, requires more mathematical horsepower than any individual mind can muster. These equations don’t give the scientist or engineer just insight, they are literally the answer to everything RF.

The IQOV-160 series delivers a frequency stability of ±5ppb over the operating temperature range of –40 to +85 degrees C and with first year ageing limited to 0.1ppm. Storage temperature range is –55 to +105 degrees C.

Output options include Sine Wave or HCMOS with a supply voltage of 3.3V. Warm up power consumption is 2W with a warm-up time of 1 minute, while stable power consumption is 0.6W.

Typical phase noise performance for a 10MHz version is: –85dBc/Hz at 10Hz; –130dBc/Hz at 100Hz; –150dBc/Hz at 1kHz; –155dBc/Hz at 10KHz; –160dBc/Hz at 100KHz and –160dBc/Hz at 1MHz. Harmonic is <= -40dBc.
