Altair Acquires CEDRAT S.A. and its Software for Low Frequency Simulation

Altair PRAltair has acquired CEDRAT S.A., a leader in the field of simulating low frequency electromagnetics for electric motor design. The acquisition includes CEDRAT, which is based in Grenoble, France, and its New York-based wholly-owned subsidiary, Magsoft Corporation.

Throughout its 35 year history, CEDRAT has built simulation software used by manufacturers to accelerate the development of reliable and optimized solutions for electric and electromagnetic devices such as motors, transformers, actuators, sensors, heat treatment processes, transmission lines, EMC, arc chambers and superconductivity applications. The addition of Flux, a prominent software for electromagnetic and thermal simulation, serves lower frequency simulation requirements. This new capability will help Altair meet the growing needs for simulation software that supports the Internet of Things and the rapidly growing EM market.
