Diamler School Buses Recalled for Visibility Problems

school bus image by ThoseGuys119Daimler Trucks North America LLC. is recalling 2,323 school buses because a defect could cause a loss of exterior lighting or windshield wiper function. This could increase the potential for a crash by decreasing visibility in certain traffic conditions, such as a dark and rainy day.

The affected school buses have a body control module that may fail resulting in intermittent or total loss of exterior lighting or windshield wiper function.

The recall includes 2012-2017 Thomas Built Minotour buses with GM chassis. Daimler will repair the buses by modifying the wiring to the body control module. Note: this recall is unrelated to Blue Bird’s recent recall of school buses for electrical system problems.
