Free Webinar Workshops to Enhance Design Engineers Use of EAGLE PCB Design Software

In line with the company’s focus on providing solutions to design engineers, driving business to the web and growth in emerging markets, Premier Farnell plc, has announced that it will host 24 separate live webinar workshops to present the latest developments of the award-winning CadSoft’s EAGLE PCB design software.

With sessions offered in English, French, German, Spanish and Chinese, these workshops will demonstrate the capabilities of the EAGLE software for design engineers, from the basics of PCB design and layout to specialist topics covering; generating manufacturing data, designing multi-layered boards and looking at various libraries and overall component designs.

Each webcast will consist of a 1-hour online training session by a dedicated EAGLE expert followed by a 30 to 60-minute Q&A. Each session also will be archived after the event and can be accessed by visiting the element14 technology training webinar centre. These webcasts are ideal for design engineers and students who want to stay current with the latest PCB design trends and application design flows using EAGLE.

A Dash of Maxwell’s: A Maxwell’s Equations Primer – Part Two

Maxwell’s Equations are eloquently simple yet excruciatingly complex. Their first statement by James Clerk Maxwell in 1864 heralded the beginning of the age of radio and, one could argue, the age of modern electronics.

Users can register for each webinar by accessing the element14 technical event calendar and the EAGLE CadSoft area via the Web.

The latest version of the award – winning EAGLE software, the best selling CAD tool of its kind, incorporates “DesignLink” functionality, giving PCB design engineers the ability to automatically search through the element14 component database, with online check of pricing and availability, as well as access to the latest data. Set-up and save options are available for individual order lists for schematics, with a simple function to add the list to a shopping cart. All EAGLE manufacturer libraries are supplied with order codes supporting this direct purchase capability. In addition, users can get a quote from element14 for the fabrication and assembly of their PCB design directly from within the EAGLE design environment.

The software is available from element14, the company’s innovative on-line community bringing Web 2.0 to design engineers, along with access to over 10,000 technical documents and software tools. All versions of EAGLE contain DesignLink and are available for FREE download and evaluation.

“EAGLE gives us tools to help our customers in their design process. It has never been easier to design a PCB and order the components engineers need to build a prototype with a single click.” said Thomas Liratsch, CadSoft’s General Manager. “Our design community, when combined with our leading-edge transactional websites, offers customers a complete online solution to their purchasing and design needs”.

“These webinars are an easy and effective way to learn how to use the EAGLE PCB design software, ranging from learning the basics to designing multi-layer-boards and generating production data,” said David Shen, Group SVP & Global Head of Technical Marketing at Premier Farnell.  “Each attendee will receive training directly from an EAGLE expert where they can ask questions live concerning a specific topic. In addition, EAGLE users can also visit CadSoft’s active customer forums on element14, where the community members exchange tips and experts give support and advice on EAGLE software, all these valuable services are free of charge.”
