4,300 Electric Angle Grinders Recalled by Metabo

Metabo Corporation has issued a recall for 4,300 Ergo series 6-inch angle grinders because the on/off switch can become stuck in the “on” position, posing a laceration hazard. The recalled grinders were sold between March 2013 and April 2014.

The affected models, 06251421 and 06251441, have a green body, black and red handle, a silver head, and measure 16 inches long by 4 inches wide by 5 inches deep. The company has received two reports of switches sticking in the “on” position, but no injuries were reported. Consumers with recalled angle grinders should stop using the tool and contact Metabo for a free repair or replacement product.

Check to see if your angle grinder is included in the recall.
