172,000 Power Bank Chargers Recalled | In Compliance Magazine

AP Specialties has issued a recall of approximately 172,000 Power Bank chargers due to the possibility of the units overheating, causing a fire hazard. The self-contained energy sources were given as promotional items at trade shows and industry conventions from November 2013 to August 2014.

The chargers are used to charge cell phones and other electronic devices when an electrical outlet is not available. They are rectangular in shape and are black, dark blue, lime green, light blue, orange, pink, purple, red, white, or yellow in color.

Consumers with recalled units should immediately stop using the charger and contact the manufacturer for instructions to receive a replacement product.
