White-Rodgers has issued a recall for four models of their digital heating and cooling thermostats for a fire hazard. The alkaline batteries used can leak on the circuit board posing a fire hazard.
The recalled thermostats are white with blue lighted screens, have three or four buttons on the right side or below the thermostat screen. The battery door is located on the top left corner. Recalled thermostats will have one of the following names printed on the front: “COMFORTSENTRY,” “DICO,” “Emerson,” “Frigidaire,” “Maytag,” “Nutone,” “Partners Choice,” “Rheem,” “Ruud,” “Unico,” “Water Furnace,” “Westinghouse,” “White-Rodgers” or “Zonefirst.” They were available for sale between January 2006 through December 2013.
