A team of researchers from the University of Texas at Dallas and the University of Tokyo have developed biologically adaptive, flexible transistors that become soft when implanted inside the body. These devices can be attached to large issues, nerves and blood vessels.
The researchers have tested the devices using heat to affix them to a cylinder 2.25 millimeters in diameter and then implanted it into a rat. After implanting the device, the team found the device morphed with the living tissues while still maintaining its superb electronic properties.
