Fairview Microwave Announces New Lines of RF Rotary Joints

Fairview Microwave, Inc. has announced their new line of single-channel/single-axis and single-channel/multi-axis RF Rotary Joints. Fairview Microwave’s RF rotary joints are needed wherever RF signals have to be transmitted between stationary and moving parts of a system, commonly used in commercial and military radar, land-mobile-radio communications and anti-missile defense applications. These rotary joints boast a compact design, excellent VSWR, low insertion loss, and minimal variation of RF performance during rotation.  The operating frequency ranges from 0 to 18 GHz depending on the model.

Fairview’s latest release includes four single-channel / single-axis rotary joints which provide the perfect solution for antenna characterization applications such as measuring antenna patterns. This line of single-channel / single-axis rotary joints includes two SMA female units, one PCB to SMA female unit and one 3-hole flange to SMA female unit.  We also carry three single-channel / multi-axis rotary joints, commonly referred to as “swivels”. This line includes SMA male to female, SMA male to male and SMA female to female configurations. These single-channel/multi-axis rotary joints are targeted to applications where linear and rotational movement may cause undue stress and strain on the coaxial cables and the connectors they mate to.

Fairview Microwave’s family of RF rotary joints is available from stock and can ship the same-day ordered. For additional details on the expanded line of rotary joints, please visit http://www.fairviewmicrowave.com/rf-products/rf-rotary-joints.html.

A Dash of Maxwell’s: A Maxwell’s Equations Primer – Part One

Solving Maxwell’s Equations for real-life situations, like predicting the RF emissions from a cell tower, requires more mathematical horsepower than any individual mind can muster. These equations don’t give the scientist or engineer just insight, they are literally the answer to everything RF.
